Konohana-no-Sakuya sharpened katana (木花之佐久夜)

Sharp katana with scabbard (saya 鞘) in black lacquered wood, black sageo (下緒), white tsuka-Ito (柄糸)

I'm named after the vital force linked to the blossoming of trees, a symbol of delicate, fragile earthly life, like cherry blossoms. Also known as Sengen-sama, she is the female kami (神, Shinto deity or spirit) of Mount Fuji (富士山 Fujisan), Japan's highest mountain. Located at its summit, the Fujisan Hongū Sengen-taisha shrine (富士山本宮浅間大社) is dedicated to it.
I was forged in a cave on the Sacred Mountain. Heated by the fire of the Earth, cooled by the icy waters coming from the white cap that covers it, worked by a master blacksmith who remained discreet, I served several masters of arms, samurai and rōnins(浪人), without a master. My new mount recalls my birth: black for the depths of the Earth and white for winter snow. This combination of white and black also recalls my vocation to distinguish and separate the pure from the impure.

The reading corner

"Shintō, the source of the Japanese spirit", Emiko Kieffer

Shintō is the ancestral religion of Japan. It is the Way, the kami, which has no founder, doctrine, sacred text or dogma. It is that great invisible force that runs through the history of the Archipelago from antiquity to the present day, and is the source of the spirit of the Japanese people. "We owe them gratitude, honor and respectful awe". In this book, Emiko Kieffer presents the many manifestations of shintō that permeate everyday life in Japan: the omnipresence of the kami, respect for nature and objects, rituals and festivals, shrines, morals, behavior... In this way, she makes us feel what lies at the heart of Japanese culture and people, and what has always questioned the West.

Legislation

Since September 6, 2013, new legal provisions stemming from the March 6, 2012 law have come into force. These new rules have strengthened criminal penalties against weapons offenders and introduced a new classification.
Katanas, swords, daggers and knives are now classified in category D. The purchase and possession of these weapons are unrestricted. In principle, they may not be carried or transported without legitimate reason. If transported, the weapon must not be "directly" usable. It must be securely packed in a case or container, preferably with a padlock or other protective system.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I came across this site by chance and what a surprise! Everything is magnificent and superbly detailed and explained. I'm very, very, very satisfied, from start to finish, support like you don't see much anymore. I was quickly taken care of for the engraving, with advice, then a photo of the workshop with the engraving done, then prompt shipment with tracking number... I sincerely recommend it at 200%. The Katana, the engraving, the support...are fabulous. Thank you ☺️ Guillaume
