Display stands for katanas, wakizashis and tantō #Terressens

Display stands for katana, wakizashi, tantō and tachi

A training or collector's sword needs to be showcased. Displaying a katana, the Japanese samurai sword, is no trivial matter. In fact, the edge of the blade must be oriented towards the sky, both symbolically and so that it doesn't come into contact with the scabbard (鞘 saya). The orientation of the handle (柄 tsuka) is also significant. As samurai are right-handed in the practice of their art, when the hilt is on the right, it means you're at war (the weapon is ready to be taken in hand). Conversely, when the handle is on the left, it means you're at peace. Forget photos of katanas in a U-shape, and respect the samurai code.
