Decorative katana, white saya with screen-printed dragon, tsuba with Japanese kanji | Faithful to the principles of honor inscribed on my guard (鍔 Tsuba), such as righteousness (義 Gi), benevolence (仁 Jin) or courage (勇気 Yūki), my last master was surrounded by an aura of legend. He is said to have hunted and slain a snow dragon. That's why he now adorns my scabbard (鞘 Saya), immobilized forever.

The master blacksmith, wanting to save his son who had been eaten alive by the animal, took the same route. After finding his son, he set out to find the materials swallowed by the monster to forge a blade.

Decorative Katana with two Kozukas (小柄 knife), marine and pirate designs, delivered in a black and red cloth-covered box | I was born seven centuries ago, in a special forge. The blacksmith who gave birth to me worked in a cave whose only access required climbing a cliff. By the sea, the basaltic cliffs of Tōjinbō (東尋坊 Sakai, Fukui prefecture) are still a geological singularity today.

Mysterious, concealed by a hood, she appeared, accompanied by two captive lurkers.

Samurai collection

Collector's katana, black saya with samurai armed with screen-printed naginata, dragon tsuba | I still carry the image of my samurai master. Armed with his two swords - katana and wakizashi - but also a naginata (薙刀). This singular weapon made it possible to fight a warrior on foot, but was mainly used to break the momentum of horsemen by cutting their horses' hocks. In those dark times, cunning was necessary to defend oneself and survive.

He particularly enjoyed training with his favorite Yari (槍), so much so that he decorated my scabbard with a print depicting him carrying this nearly 4-meter-long spear.

He lived between the XIVᵗʰ and XVᵗʰ centuries, during the period when Japan gave birth to this art of repairing broken objects by highlighting his scars with gold powder.

Collector's tachi (飾り太刀 kazaritachi), dark red saya (鞘 scabbard) and white braids | The dark red color of my saya (鞘 scabbard) recalls the blood I spilled. The white purity of the fabrics covering it and my tsuka (柄 hilt) demonstrates that the samurai I served for years remained pure. Indeed, these were not duels fueled by an oversized ego, but only the hand of Justice. This symbol of purity can be seen today in the flag of the Land of the Rising Sun.

My discreet design represents the sun and the moon, two complementary stars in Japan as in the West. In Shinto beliefs, Amaterasu is the goddess of the sun (天 ama and 照 terasu, the highest deity in Japanese mythology). God of the moon and night, Tsukuyomi (月読) is her younger brother.
