King Arthur's dagger

Collector's metal dagger with braided metal, leather and synthetic resin scabbard, on the theme of Excalibur, the sword of Arthur, King of the Bretons.

I accompanied the king on his exceptional adventure. More discreet than my older sister ExcaliburI can cut stone as well as wood. My scabbard also protects the one I serve. It was to the Lady of the Lake that I was given to Arthur.
On Arthur's death, after having pacified the two Bretagnes(?) (Great Britain and Little Britain), Excalibur was thrown, at his request, into a magical lake. Skilfully retrieved by an outstretched arm from the water, the sword returned to its mythological place. As for me, my discretion has allowed me to endure over the centuries, in the heart of the Forêt de Brocéliande. Today, I'm stepping out of the shadows to breathe new life into this legend, to uphold the Celtic values that gave birth to it, and to serve my new king.

"King Arthur, Alban Gautier

From the earliest texts, history and legend are intertwined. Tales referring to a warrior or king named Arthur first appeared in early medieval Britain, around 800 AD. A character both situated in time and shrouded in mystery, did he really exist? And how did the relationship between history and legend evolve over the following centuries? Why did some see fit to defend the historicity of the character, while others fiercely denied it? From the first medieval centuries to the latest developments in the Kaamelott series, via the time of the Plantagenets and the Tudors, readers will follow the singular development of a king who has become one of the great myths of the West.
