On the battlefield or in a duel, my main role was to frighten our enemies. My boar's teeth contributed to this aura of fear. Faithful protector of his daimyō (大名, local lord or governor), my samurai master mainly fought the bandits who haunted the roads and countryside. Everyone recognized him by his dark armor and his saber that whistled through the air as it sliced its target deadly.
His smile was concealed by my grimaces. He particularly enjoyed fighting and defeating those who opposed the established order. Seeing me too close was a death sentence...
