Helmet with cheek guard
Not quite Roman, not yet Norman.
From my Roman origins, I've kept these cheek flaps that are both supple and protective. And I've borrowed from the modernity of the Germanic Empire (of the High Middle Ages) in which I was born this conical brain shape, better able to deflect blows from axes or swords.
It's on the battlefield that I show all my effectiveness: I protect, I deflect, I take. If I get dents or gashes, I'm proud of them. Just as I'm proud of the man who wears me, who trusts me with his life, who includes me in his equipment like a crown worn by the noblest of fighters.
