I was forged to represent purity. My steel has been worked tirelessly for long hours to enable the purest ore to be extracted. My frame was chosen with the same idea in mind. Westerners distinguish green from blue¹, but it's a different story in Japan. Originally, green (緑 midori) represented green buds and young branches. The term was later equated with freshness. But it's on my tsuba (鍔 guard) and saya (鞘 scabbard) that the symbols are most present. Carp and lotus, in leaf form or in bloom decorate my mount. Indeed, these animals and plants often live in close proximity to each other, in the wild or in Japanese temples. What's more, the koi carp symbolizes perseverance, bravery, courage and love.
Purity, courage and perseverance are part of what I represent, through my manufacture, my history and above all what I'm looking for today. I'm looking for a pure soul, capable of overcoming obstacles, surpassing limits, to build and conquer, in an unconditional spirit of Justice and Purity. Will you be worthy?
