Zatoichi: synopsis

Zatoïchi (座頭市, zatōichi) is a film series, followed by a TV series. Produced in Japan from 1962 to 1989. It was again adapted to film in 2003 by and starring Takeshi Kitano.

Zatōichi (2003)

Japan, XIXᵗʰ century. Zatōichi (座頭市) is a blind traveler earning his living as a professional gambler and masseur. But behind his humble exterior, he's a fearsome fighter, lightning fast and whose blows prove stunningly accurate. As he crosses a mountain, he discovers a small town entirely under the control of a gang. Its leader, Ginzo, gets rid of anyone who dares to stand in his way, all the more effectively because he has hired a fearsome ronin, Hattori. In a gambling joint, Zatōichi meets two geishas, as dangerous as they are beautiful. Okinu and her sister Osei go from town to town in search of their parents' murderer. Their only clue is a mysterious name: Kuchinawa. When Zatōichi meets Ginzo's henchmen, a confrontation is inevitable...

Katanas, swords, daggers and knives are now classified in category D. The purchase and possession of these weapons are unrestricted. In principle, they may not be carried or transported without legitimate reason. If transported, the weapon must not be "directly" usable. It must be securely packed in a case or container, preferably with a padlock or other protective system.

Protective oil, micro-fiber, chalk ball (Uchiko), pin remover (Mekugi Nuki) and pins (Mekugi), delivered in a wooden box | I have the privilege of maintaining the katanas of the best samurai. I maintain the blade to protect it from oxidation. Unalloyed steel (without additives such as chromium and molybdenum) is prone to rust. An alloy of iron and carbon, steel is weakened by the presence of oxygen. Air can therefore attack it, which is why my oil helps protect the surface of this noble metal.
