Medieval German dagger

Medieval combat dagger, faceted sphere pommel, brown leather scabbard with coat of arms and cross

I too followed them, these pilgrims in search of a more spiritual life, a renewal of their faith. Less spectacular than my big sister, I was nevertheless part of every action: in combat when the enemy was too close, in the hospital when the scissors ran out, at the banquet when victory was celebrated.
Always at my knight's side, I've crossed time and history to arrive here today. To be at someone's side once again.

The Latin cross, reamed engraved on the scabbard of the German Teutonic dagger | #Terressens

Enclosed in a coat of arms, the cross engraved on the scabbard of this dagger is described as Latin (the lower limb is longer than the other three) and pattée. In this case, it is also reamed (the cross does not touch the blazon).

It is found, for example, in a German blazon recorded in the XVᵗʰ century (visual available on the University of Darmstadt website).

I'm a blacksmith, proud of my trade

Perceived as strange and mysterious, even diabolical, since he transforms the elements with fire, the blacksmith is an essential figure to whom knights and all fighters owe much of their equipment.

Legislation

Since September 6, 2013, new legal provisions stemming from the March 6, 2012 law have come into force. These new rules have strengthened criminal penalties against weapons offenders and introduced a new classification.
Swords, daggers and knives are now classified in category D. The purchase and possession of these weapons is unrestricted. In principle, they may not be carried or transported without legitimate reason. If transported, the weapon must not be "directly" usable. It must be securely packed in a case or container, preferably with a padlock or other protective system.
